Private Lessons

Private lessons are designed to be one-on-one, making them both fun and educational. Our skilled coaches provide personalized, expert guidance tailored just for you. Each session kicks off with a comprehensive skill assessment, allowing the coach to pinpoint your strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience.

For Children:

  1. Respect others: Treat fellow players, coaches, and staff with kindness and respect.

  2. Listen to instructions: Pay attention to coaches and follow their instructions during lessons and games.

  3. Play fair: Follow the rules of the game and demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.

  4. Take turns: Wait patiently for your turn to play and avoid disrupting other players.

  5. Keep it friendly: Avoid using rude language or engaging in behavior that may upset others.

  6. Clean up after yourself: Put away chess pieces and equipment after each session and keep the playing area tidy.

For Parents:

  1. Supportive behavior: Encourage your child to participate and enjoy the game without putting too much pressure on them to win.

  2. Respect coaches and staff: Treat coaches, staff, and other parents with respect and courtesy.

  3. Timeliness: Ensure your child arrives on time for scheduled sessions and pick them up promptly afterward.

  4. Communication: Keep lines of communication open with coaches and staff regarding any concerns or questions.

  5. Observational role: Allow coaches to lead lessons and refrain from interrupting or coaching your child during sessions.

  6. Positive reinforcement: Offer praise and encouragement to your child, win or lose, to foster a positive attitude toward the game.

These rules and regulations aim to create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment for all participants in the chess club.

In the case of inappropriate behaviour, Shawn will have a discussion with the parents/guardians. If the behaviour persists, the child may be withdrawn from the program. Please note that fees will not be refunded in such instances.
